This bracket is designed for people over six feet tall, it has a longer stem and is welded at a different angle. It also has an extra hole that allows a pin to go through to keep the bracket at an angle.
We purchase the raw steel, then have a local Minnesota machine shop cut and weld the steel to fabricate this bracket. The brackets are then sent to our local powder coater for a superior finish. NordicTrack used this design in the 80's, then in the 90's they went with a cheaper cast metal bracket. The cast metal bracket is prone to breaking/snapping whereas the welded steel bracket shouldn't ever break.
Not only is this bracket stronger than the cast style, it is much nicer in appearance and will look amazing on your skier.
This bracket is made from steel square tubing that is welded to flat stock steel, then they are powder coated. The original NordicTrack brackets were made from pot metal and poured into a mold which is a much weaker design.
