If your NordicTrack skier is slipping you need to replace the driverollers. The driverollers are the two rollers located in the center of the machine near the flywheel.

These driverollers are new and will fit any wood style skier built from 1976 to 1999 and NordicSport skiers that used a metal flywheel and dragstrap. Two come in a set. For best results, purchase this set. These driverollers are manufactured in the US by NordicParts.

These driverollers are 2.355 inches in height.

We include detailed installation instructions and it is simple to install the driverollers. Remove the skis, tip the skier on its side, remove the two #3 phillips screws and the four 1/2 bolts located on the wooden side board, once you remove the side board the driveroller will slide off the flywheel axle, then wipe the flywheel axle off with a paper towel soaked in rubbing alcohol, then install the new driveroller so it spins freely forward and locks in the back stroke, then re-install the sideboard and repeat these steps to the other side. Its easier to do one side at a time. NEVER LUBRICATE the driverollers as this could cause the one-way roller clutch bearing inside of them to slip.

If your NordicTrack skier is slipping in the back stroke then these rollers are what you need to repair your ski machine.

Replacing the driverollers is very easy. Just make sure you install the replacement rollers so they both spin freely forward and lock in the back stroke.

The driverollers we sell are manufactured from the original company who supplied them to NordicTrack in the 80's and 90's. In fact, we own the original mold and these are only produced for NordicParts.com.

If you have a ICON skier which would have been produced after 1999 then please contact us prior to ordering.

The new drive rollers look a lot more substantial than the old ones. I expect they will last a lot longer than I will.

    Hi Chad,
I received the rollers. Thank you. And thank you for the cord you sent too.
    Take care

    Hi Chad,

The right drive roller on my 1992 Nordic track failed. I normally push alternatively with my left and right legs to keep the flywheel spinning – when the roller failed, expected right push resistance disappeared and I fell off the NordicTrack to the right. That was a shock.

I sent away for the overhaul kit and have replaced the drive rollers and idler wheels. You gave me great email advice when I had email questions.

I have been using the track for 28 years. With the new drive rollers and idler wheels, I am again happily skiing along most every day. At 77 it helps me maintain cardiovascular fitness & good balance. I also have had fun in the past doing actual cross country skiing and it’s nice to know I could do it again based on the conditioning the track gives me.

Thank you so much for your work and your company supporting NordicTrack users.

    Don

After 20 years of use, my right ski started to slip backwards. After checking this site, I quickly surmised the problem was the drive roller. I switched it with the left side one, and the problem was then on the reverse side, confirming it was the roller. It would be silly to just replace one, particularly after 20 years of use, so I bought a pair. And, I took the advice of the site's owner, Chad, and replaced my end rollers, from the single wheel version to the double wheel ones. True to his work, they provide a much quieter, smoother ride. I now have a brand new machine!

You can't go wrong with these original NordicTrack Drive rollers. I've been using a NordicTrack skier since the year 1993. Eventually the rollers will start to slip from underneath you. This is a sign you need to replace the rollers. You can find used ones on Craigslist or eBay but you never know what you're going to get. They may work for you but the majority of the time they don't last very long and are noisy. From now on I always replace my rollers with quality new NordicParts NordicTrack skier parts. They are quiet and last as long as the originals. Truely a high-quality part.
